Brain Tumour
This is an extraordinary case.
Does not happen every day.
It does not mean chiropractic treats cancer: all it means to me is that the body can heal.

This is Billy (not real name). He has had many doctors try to help him, including a chiropractor, and that's me. This case shows some anecdotal evidence that patients with malignancy can be helped by chiropractic. Any improvement this boy's quality of life is worth it, right? And look, no drugs...

Warning: there is absolutely no way a chiropractor can care for a patient with cancer without consultation with other professionals. You need to understand that chiropractors refer to other health professionals. They must, in the case of cancer. We do at all times. What this case urges is that CO-MANAGEMENT by a chirorpactor can be of benefit, just as in any condition from back pain to stomach ache.

Chiropractic has affected BIlly’s quality of life. It is not intended to be an heroic or emergency treatment of his tumor. The approach is the same for any person: you are better off without spinal dysfunction, no matter who you are.
His medical treatment of an inoperable brain tumor was ceased because it was severely harming him, according to his father. He has received great help from the main children’s hospital in Sydney, Australia, but unfortunately no cure. The treatment had terrible effects, none of which affected the size of the tumor. He was vomiting fecal material at one point, and looking like a starving child.
For those who know anatomy and pathology, Billy has a large neurocytoma near the aqueduct of Sylvius just anterior to his cerebellum, seen below surrounded by two arrows. His dad tells me that this is the only tumor in this position in any patient in the world, at the time.

Progress
His father was referred by my valued patient, Greg Buchanan, to see if chiropractic could help him, and brought him to me for assessment. He has been under care since 26th April, 1999 and the picture below shows his physical appearance back then, and to the right, how he appears almost 2 months later.

What we did
The care consisted of Atlas Orthogonal for his upper neck and Activator Methods technique elsewhere. I think the difference in the child is amazing for such a short time. I can not be sure whether the chiropractic has brought him to this level, whether it is spontaneous or both. But I know that spontaneous remission does occur.

Pre x ray, before care, note the unbalanced relationship between skull, atlas (horizontal line), and neck.

x ray

Post x ray, after chiropractic care. Note the skull and neck are now orthogonal (at right angles).
And because Billy is such a big Star Wars fan, I say to him:

May the force be with You, BIlly!
